Announcing "Principles of Information Security" - A New Cosaint Certify™ Course
February 27, 2004 - Mount Vernon, WA
Cosaint Inc. today announced a new end-user security awareness training course - "Principles of Information Security"
Information security is more than just avoiding computer viruses and choosing strong passwords. Information security covers a wide range of computer and physical security issues, social engineering attacks and privacy concerns.
The basic aims of most information security programs can be summarized in 3 principles - Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability. Course 010 - "Principles of Information Security" - defines these 3 terms, provides examples of security breaches, and explores how an organization's policies and procedures fit into the picture.
This course is ideal as the introductory course for a structured information security education program, and can easily be customized to include organization specific materials and messages.
Mike McCrea, CEO of Cosaint Inc. said:
"A number of our clients are looking for Cosaint to provide comprehensive training programs starting with the fundamental principles behind information security before moving on to the practical applications of these principles. Course 010 is designed for these clients and can also be customized to includes organization-specific information. It can also be customized to include a message from a senior executive in the client organization since executive endorsement is such a key factor in the success of a training program."
As with all Cosaint courses, "Principles of Information Security" can be supplied through Cosaint's hosted LMS (Cosaint Certify) or provided in AICC or SCORM formats for use in an organization's own LMS.
